Steenhart Watches

Terms & Conditions

The agreements between you and Steenhart Watches, clearly set out.

Last updated: 22 October 2026

1.General

Welcome to Steenhart Watches.

These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of our website and to all appointments and transactions with Steenhart Watches. We have no online shop: watches are viewed, bought, sold and traded in by appointment only.

Nothing in these terms limits your statutory rights as a consumer. Where a provision conflicts with mandatory law that applies to you, the statutory provision prevails.

2.Our offering

Steenhart Watches offers a carefully selected collection of exclusive and vintage luxury watches. All watches are pre-owned unless expressly stated otherwise.

We make every effort to describe our watches — specifications, photos, reference numbers, condition and provenance — as accurately and as up to date as possible. During a visit by appointment you see the watch up close and we go through every detail with you personally.

Despite careful photography, colour or appearance may differ slightly because of lighting and screen settings. The watch delivered corresponds to its description and the characteristics you may reasonably expect.

3.Prices and payments

All prices are in euros (€) and include VAT for consumers, unless expressly stated otherwise.

Any additional costs are always discussed with you clearly before you purchase. Payment is made at the time of the purchase during your appointment, in the way we agree with you. We do not take online payments.

We may correct obvious pricing errors, in accordance with applicable consumer law.

4.Buying by appointment

We do not sell watches through an online shop. You view a watch with us by appointment. On purchase you receive a clear invoice stating the total amount payable.

Once you agree and we have received your payment, the contract of sale is concluded. We make sure you know exactly what you are buying beforehand: brand, model, reference number, year, condition and lawfully stated provenance.

An appointment is free of charge and commits you to nothing.

5.Delivery

As a rule, you take the watch with you after purchasing it at your appointment.

If, in an exceptional case, we cannot deliver straight away, we make clear arrangements with you before your purchase about when and how the handover takes place. For security reasons we do not offer shipping; the handover always takes place in person, by appointment.

If delivery is delayed, we inform you and respect your statutory rights in the event of late delivery.

The risk of loss or damage passes to you when you receive the watch from us.

6.Right of withdrawal

As a consumer who concludes a distance purchase — for example by phone or email — you generally have the right to withdraw from the agreement within 14 days without giving a reason.

The withdrawal period starts on the day you receive the watch. To exercise your right of withdrawal, let us know your decision clearly, for example by email or by phone.

Return procedure

  1. Notify us of your decision within the 14-day period.
  2. Send the watch back to us within 14 days of notifying us.
  3. Include enough information to identify your return, such as your name and the order or invoice.
  4. Ask us for the return address and return instructions by email or phone, then send the watch insured to the address we provide.

You may try on and examine a watch as you would in a physical store — looking at it and trying it on only as far as needed to assess what it is and how it works.

We may deduct from the refund any reduction in value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the watch. This includes removing protective film, wearing the watch, scratches, a damaged strap or altering the watch.

Where possible, we recommend returning the watch with its original box, accessories and documentation.

Return costs and refunds

As a rule, the direct cost of returning the watch is borne by you. These costs are then clearly stated before the purchase.

We refund the amount for the watch within 14 days of your notice, including the standard outbound delivery charges where required by law. We may withhold the refund until we have received the watch or you have provided evidence that you have returned it, whichever comes first.

We refund using the same payment method you used, unless we expressly agree otherwise. No extra charges apply.

7.Exceptions to the right of withdrawal

In certain cases defined by law, there is no right of withdrawal — for example for products made to your personal specifications or clearly personalised for you.

Watches chosen from our standard collection do not automatically fall within this exception.

Where an exception applies, we make this clear to you before the purchase.

8.Warranty and conformity

Every watch we sell is covered by the statutory consumer guarantees that apply under Dutch law.

The watch must conform to the agreement and have the characteristics you may reasonably expect, taking into account the description, price, condition and other relevant circumstances.

If a watch is defective or does not conform to the agreement, you are entitled to free repair or replacement, or — where legally reasonable and proportionate — a price reduction or cancellation with a refund.

In the Netherlands there is no statutory two-year guarantee. The protection you enjoy depends on what you may reasonably expect from the watch.

Any additional manufacturer's or commercial warranty is described separately. It does not replace or restrict your statutory rights.

Normal wear and tear, accidents or damage from improper use are not automatically a defect. Any warranty claim is always assessed in accordance with applicable law.

9.Watch care and maintenance

To keep your watch in top condition, follow the manufacturer's care instructions. We recommend:

  • avoiding extreme temperatures and strong impacts
  • respecting the water resistance of your specific watch
  • avoiding contact with chemicals or substances that may damage the watch or strap
  • having repairs and maintenance carried out by a qualified watchmaker

Water resistance varies by model and must not be assumed unless expressly specified.

Not following care instructions does not automatically suspend your statutory warranty rights.

10.Availability

Our offering is subject to availability.

If a watch has unexpectedly become unavailable, we contact you and look for a suitable solution together, such as an alternative watch if you wish.

We never substitute a different watch for the one you chose without your consent.

You retain all your statutory rights.

11.Intellectual property

All content on our website — texts, photographs, graphics, logos, descriptions and design — is protected by applicable intellectual property law. Without permission from the rights holder it may not be copied, reproduced, distributed or commercially exploited, except where permitted by law.

12.Liability

Steenhart Watches fulfils its obligations as agreed. We are not liable for damage caused solely by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, to the extent permitted by law.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law. Your statutory rights, including those relating to defective products, remain in full force.

13.Complaints

Your satisfaction matters to us. If you have a complaint about a watch, an appointment or our service, please contact us at reiniersteenhart5@gmail.com or call us on +31 6 53 10 60 32. Please include your invoice or order details and a description of the issue.

We handle your complaint as quickly as possible and usually respond substantively within 14 days. If we need more time, we will let you know.

You always retain the right to pursue your legal remedies.

14.Privacy

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection legislation. The Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect personal data.

15.Force majeure

Steenhart Watches is not liable for a failure to perform an obligation where that failure results from force majeure within the meaning of the law.

If force majeure affects an appointment or a purchase, we will let you know as soon as possible and look for a suitable solution together.

This provision does not restrict your statutory rights, including in the event of non-delivery.

16.Governing law and disputes

These Terms & Conditions are governed by Dutch law.

Consumers outside the Netherlands retain the protection of the mandatory consumer law of their own country, where European or international law so requires.

Disputes are submitted to the competent court under the applicable rules on jurisdiction.

17.Amendments

Steenhart Watches may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

In principle, the terms that apply to your purchase are those you could read before your purchase.

Changes do not reduce your contractual or statutory rights retroactively.
